Coffee with a Cause: The Story Behind Our Harmony Blend

 

 

At The Roastery Mpls, we’ve always believed that the perfect roast is about balance. But as the world feels increasingly out of sync, we realized that "balance" needs to extend beyond the burlap sack and the roasting drum. It needs to reach our neighbors.

That’s the heart behind our Harmony Blend.

Recently, we were honored to have this specific mission featured in the Star Tribune. The article highlighted how a small, basement-based roastery in South Minneapolis is trying to make a tangible difference "one coffee cup at a time." For us, it isn't just about the ink on the page; it’s about the momentum we’re building together as a community.

The Harmony Blend is our most ambitious project to date, not just for its flavor, but for its impact. For every single pound sold, we donate $10 directly to the Immigration Law Center of Minnesota.

We chose this partnership because they provide essential legal services to our immigrant and refugee neighbors—people who are often navigating the most stressful chapters of their lives, especially those affected by ICE. When you buy a bag of Harmony, you aren't just getting fresh-roasted beans; you are providing stability, dignity, and a voice to someone in our community.

 

 

The Profile: Crafting the "In-Between"

Of course, it wouldn't be a Roastery Mpls blend if it didn't stand up to Jeremy's uncompromising standards. We wanted this coffee to mirror its mission: a trio of distinct origins working together in total rhythm.

• Papua New Guinea: Provides the creamy foundation. Think warm butter and caramelized sugar.

• Semi-Washed Brazil: Adds the "grounded" notes—a classic nuttiness and dried dark fruit.

• Natural Ethiopia: The spark. It brings a vibrant pop of strawberry and blueberry that lifts the entire cup.

It’s roasted to our signature Full City profile—rich and sweet, without a hint of burnt bitterness.
